At Catalink, the safety of our community is our highest priority. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of child sexual abuse, exploitation, or grooming. This document outlines our standards, the technologies we use for prevention, and our commitment to reporting illegal activities to the appropriate authorities.
1. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Catalink strictly prohibits the following:
- CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material): The creation, sharing, or distribution of images or videos depicting the sexual abuse of minors.
- Grooming: Any behaviour intended to establish a relationship with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
- Sextortion: Threats to release sensitive images of a minor to coerce them into sexual acts or financial payment.
- Illegal Solicitation: Any attempt to solicit sexual services involving a minor.
2. Detection and Moderation Technologies
To ensure a safe environment, we employ a multi-layered defence strategy:
- Automated Hashing: We use industry-standard hashing technology (such as PhotoDNA) to identify and block known CSAM before it is ever shared on our platform.
- Keyword Filtering: Our systems monitor for high-risk keywords associated with grooming and exploitation.
- Human Review: Our dedicated safety team performs 24/7 manual reviews of flagged content and user reports.
3. Mandatory Reporting to Authorities
In compliance with federal and international laws, Catalink fulfils its legal obligations by:
- NCMEC Reporting: We report all identified instances of CSAM to the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline.
- Law Enforcement Cooperation: We proactively cooperate with global law enforcement agencies (such as the FBI or Interpol) to assist in the investigation and prosecution of offenders.
- Data Preservation: We preserve all relevant data, including account info and logs, associated with illegal activity to aid in legal discovery.
4. User Reporting Mechanisms
We empower our users to be our partners in safety. If you encounter suspicious behaviour:
- In-App Reporting: Tap the "Report" button on any profile or message thread and select "Child Safety" as the reason.
- Direct Contact: You may also report concerns directly to our safety team at: support@catalink.app.
